Dish tastng panel comments on our wine
Sourced from a 100-acre vineyard west of Hastings in the Mangatahi Valley alongside the Ngaruroro River, the wines produced by the team at Osawa just keep getting
better as the years progress and they’re now definitely one to watch from the
region. Cameron Douglas MS was impressed with this “modern style of chardonnay
with real interest and texture,” while Andrew Parkinson and Yvonne Lorkin both
agreed that it also showed tangy fruit concentration, refreshing, cleansing
texture and a long satisfying finish.
Bob Campbell chose an amazing 3 wines from our
range for inclusion in the Gourmet Traveller WINE editorial feature,
100 TOP NEW RELEASES. That's 3% of all the wines selected. Quite an
outstanding achievement given the breadth of choice Bob will have been given.... Wow! (not to mention he chose a Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc).

The Age Good Wine Guide 2013
Hawke's Bay is not the region that first springs to mind when you think of NZ Pinot Noir, but this offering from relative newcomer Osawa Wines shows plenty of varietal twang. Spiced red cherry and plum fruits segue into lighter wafts of game, red licorice and forest floor. Bright acidity, fine-grained tannins and a medium-length finish feature in a wine that shows excellent drinkability.
